Important information for Windows XP Users.
If you last bought a PC between 2009
and 2013 it probably came with Windows 7. Microsoft ended
support for Windows 7 in February 2020. You can still
upgrade for free to Windows 10 and it's vital that you upgrade
as soon as possible as each month an unsupported system is used
on-line the riskier it is. Although Windows 10 is now on
borrowed time, and support for Windows 10 ends in October 2025.

A powerful and late model Windows 7 PC will run Windows 10
perfectly well, older Windows 7 PCs may require either a
hard-disk or memory upgrade or both. This will still be
much cheaper than buying a new PC.

If you last bought a PC between 2013
and 2015 it probably came with Windows 8 or 8.1. Microsoft ended
support for Windows 8 in January 2016 and Windows 8.1 support
ended in January 2023 . However you can still
upgrade either directly to Windows 10 for free and this is a
strongly recommended upgrade. Windows 10 is far superior
to Windows 8 or 8.1 both in usability and in security.
